Russell Lecture Series
2017 represents the inaugural year of The Russell Lecture Series, what we hope will become an annual occasion.
In late 2016, the June Russell Memorial Fund was founded through a bequest by the late Professor Robert Hilton Russell, Ph.D., in memory of his beloved wife, June. They were both very active members of The Church of Christ at Dartmouth College (CCDC) and great supporters of our local outreach ministries and Our Church’s Wider Mission through our denomination, the United Church of Christ. The June Russell Memorial Fund was established to enhance the Outreach and Religious Education ministries of our congregation.
June worked for and was a strong supporter of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions, the Congregational forerunner of the United Church Board for World Ministries. Bob spent the majority of his career as the Professor of Romance Languages at Dartmouth College. We at CCDC cherish their foresight, generosity, and personal example of Christian discipleship. Among many other new ventures at CCDC, The June Russell Memorial Fund serves to underwrite The Russell Lecture Series.
